A Chicken wire frame…

Chicken wire is cool, but a little prickly to work with.

This frame had a mirror in it.

I tried to age the mirror to make it look old.

I ended up just making it look scratched.

I won’t show you that.

I painted the frame with CeCe Caldwell’s Destin Gulf Green.

If you’ve ever been to Destin, you know how beautiful the water is. ย Well this paint is beautiful too!

I ended up doing two coats.

see how pretty ๐Ÿ™‚

I attached the chicken wire, and asked my Facebook friends what they would use on the back.

There were several great suggestions, use burlap~was one and

I have some on hand, surprised?

I sanded, and dry brushed with Ce Ce Caldwell Vintage white to achieve this finish.

I waxed it with their awesome wax too!

Used my glue gunย to attach the burlap.

You can use it for jewelry.

Or as a bulletin board.

~burlap and chicken wire~

I haveย a

Love~Hate

relationship with both ๐Ÿ˜‰

    2. I love this! But how did you attach your chicken wire and make it look nice? I attach chicken wire and there is stuff going everywhere. And I have a heard time attaching it to wood with a staple gun. The wood is never cooperative.

      • Lindsey, I use a pneumatic staple gun, always works with not problem. I cut the wire just a little bit larger than the opening, staple and then trim. Good luck ๐Ÿ™‚

        • This would have been my question too, as I just took a pin board apart to freshen it up with some chicken wire. Burlap idea just great! I may spray paint the wire though. Thank you for the lovely tutorial.

    3. That looks great! Thank you for showing up close exactly where you attached the chicken wire! I knew that’s where I should have put mine, but the love/hate thing with the chicken wire was not the best relationship and sadly the chicken wire won! haha! Love how your frame turned out!

    4. That is adorable, love, love it!. I just finished painting the frame of an old window using caribbean blue, and crackle. I had planned to use chicken wire but the burlap is a beautiful addition I must try that now. Thank you, althought excited I dread it as well. I also have a love hate relationship with both ๐Ÿ™‚

    5. A trifecta of beautiful – chicken wire, burlap and a GORGEOUS paint colour! Lucky you to have such an amazing shape of frame to work with in the first place.

      Have a wonderful weekend!

    6. My husband would agree. He is in charge of chicken wire so when there is a project at our house it is not wise to combine my love/hate of burlap with his love/hate of chicken wire. Your project turned out great and hopefully no relationships were harmed in it’s making.

    8. LOVE it Deb! The color is really pretty. I love the look of chicken wire but have always thought the same thing, it must be a bear to work with. Have a great weekend. I am pinning this:)
