Southern style, my English friend Jan laughed at the name of this.  But she loved the recipe 🙂

English Toffee

2 sticks real butter

1 cup sugar

1 sleeve of saltine crackers

12 oz. milk chocolate chips

Heat oven to 350°

Line a cookie sheet with aluminum foil.  Place crackers on cookie sheet, flat, one layer.  Melt butter, add sugar and boil for 3 minutes.  Pour mixture over crackers.  Bake 15 minutes or until they are a toffee color.  Remove from oven, pour chocolate chips over crackers wait 1-2 minutes and use a spatula to spread evenly over toffee.  Sprinkle with crushed pecans, while still warm…this is optional.  Place in freezer for 1/2 hour.  Break in pieces and enjoy.

    1. I seen this recipe on facebook this week only it was called Christmas Crack. It also called for saltines, they are not my fav so i thought i would use club crackers or ritz. It called for M&Ms or nuts. I like the heath bars topping or peppermint candy crushed. I think you can use any topping you would like. Will be making this over the weekend using different toppings on it.
