A friend of mine described them as dingy and blah.  She said with these pieces you need to totally change the look or leave them alone.

I decided to take this one from French Provincial to French Fab.

Instead of distressing, I dry brushed.  Because who wants to see that blah before color coming through?

Painted Hardware

I painted and dry brushed the hardware the same color as the drawers.

I think it looks much better.

    1. I love your dresser! I have one that is super similar that I would like to create something similar to yours for my baby girl’s nursery. The only thing is I asked my brother to paint it white while I was pregnant and he made a mess of it. He used a sander and did not use the same tension so it looks crazy. It’s hard to explain but I could send you a picture.Do you have any suggestions? I would appreciate any help since it came from my grandparent’s house and I would love to have it in their great grand-daughter’s room. THANKS!!

    2. Debbie, you had me at French Provincial! I just love the lines and making them pop with the green drawers just makes it even better!
