I have a treat for you today! After all who doesn’t love a party, especially when Kirby is doing the party planning!

Hi!  I’m Kirby from Kirb Appeal, and Debbie has invited me to offer up some Fresh Fun for today. (I love Debbie, don’t you?)

gwyneth

(This is not me.  This is Gwyneth Paltrow.  She is young and skinny and has no trouble throwing parties, because she doesn’t teach.)

For those of you who don’t know me, my main job (now that my kids are grown) is teaching school.  So during the school year, I spend a LOT of time thinking about all the stuff I’m going to do in the summer.

Like my fancy and/or fun summer party.

So, I go to Pinterest and pin the heck outta some things that look like they’d be good for a party.  The name of my board is ‘PAR-TAY!’  so you know what kind of stuff I’m looking for.

First, I have to make the decision regarding a vehicle for my beverages.   Do I want canning jar-style glassware or something a little fancier?

And what about the food?  Should it be festive and fun?

Or beautiful and healthy?

…And as far as the decorating is concerned, do I want to keep it casual?

…or do I want something a little more elegant?

Meanwhile, because I can’t make a dang decision, the party ends up being a beer on the patio with my husband.

    1. Casual entertaining is always the best idea to me. Especially if you are out on the deck – it practically screams casual! Plus some of the best nights we’ve had with friends have been the impromptu ones – where a quick stop in has led to lunch and then to wine and pizza on our back deck. I must say I love the last picture of the long table with the fairy lights – so cute for summer!

    2. yes, i think it’s a party as long as you are hanging out with at least one other person you love, or like i suppose, and there’s alcohol. that’s a party. 😉
