My favorite time of the year is anytime we have guests! Living away from most of our family is hard, when they visit, we try to pamper them so they will come back often! We give them what they want like great food, plenty of blankets, extra toothbrushes, and a place to get away. All of these things make them feel welcome.

Affordable ideas to make your guest feel right at home - 10 Tips for a cozy guest room

Freshening up the guest room doesn’t take much time or money, keeping the key pieces neutral makes it easy to change accessories and create a new look. The room had been sporting grays and pink, I decided to switch out a few things and go with blue. Blue is one of my all time favorite colors, it all started with this storage bench. It didn’t take me long to find a few accessories to carry out my new color story. I’ve had this pintuck bedding in white for over 2 years and I love it. It looks great all year long and washes up like a dream! It’s only $39 for the mini set (comforter and 2 shams) for queen size. (I have listed my affiliate links for all the Better Homes and Gardens items at the bottom.)

After a long trip there’s nothing like slipping between soft sheets and sweet smelling blankets, they’re the first thing you notice when you hop in to bed, right?

Be sure to carve out a little space in the closet so they have a place for hanging clothes. Put a couple of magazines or books out too, I don’t know about you but reading makes me sleepy 🙂

    1. I also have a mini fridge that tucks in perfectly underneath one of the night stands in my Guest a Room. Also, a comfy chair with ottoman, along with a good light for reading. LOVE your color scheme!

      • The two large pillows in the back are just king size bed pillows and the two euro pillows have Ikea pillow covers on them. The two white pillows are bed pillows with the pillow covers from the Better Homes and Gardens pillow covers that came with the comforter set. I hope this answered your question.
        Thanks,
        Debbie

        • Thanks for the reply! I am wanting to replicate this bed but I have a king. What would you recommend adding? 3 euros? 2 throw pillows? Are they striped in the back? Also where are the large bed pillow cases from? (the blue striped). Sorry for all the questions but I love how this room looks and want to do the same thing in my guest room:)

          • The large ones in the back are striped, they are pillow covers from part of a duvet set from Ikea.I have a king size bed and I set it up just like this, I guess you could add the extra pillows that you mentioned, but I don’t.
            Thanks,
            Debbie

    2. Well I just ordered the headboard and yesterday I went and bought the diffuser, I hope I’m as successful in putting it all together as you were. We are building a new home and the headboard will look nice in spare bedroom. Thanks for all the info.
