TABLE TOP VALET MIRROR MAKEOVER
Happy Thrift Store Makeover Day! Truly one of our favorite days of the month. Today I’m sharing this awesome table top valet mirror that I found at Goodwill recently. It looks vintage, like the old tilting shaving stands from years ago. Of course it’s not and that made it easy to makeover, no antiques ruined here.
Be sure to visit all my friends and see their creations listed at the bottom.
There will be no shaving in front of this tilting mirror valet. There will be all the stuff that I wear that day. Let me tell you what I did to transform this dated piece. I have included my affiliate links to supplies used, just click on them.
Supplies used to makeover Table Top Tilting Mirror Stand
- Clorox Wipes
- Paper towels
- Spray Paint (I used Behr Chalk Paint)
- Sanding Block
Mirror Stand makeover with Spray Chalk Paint
The first thing I did was wipe down the mirror stand with a Clorox wipe. Y’all it was dirty! I dried it off with a paper towel and then I started taking it apart, the mirror was easy to remove, I was dreading taping it off before painting.
The two piece that hold the mirror to the stand were easy to paint, just grab a piece of cardboard and push them through. I spray painted the piece with one good coat of Behr Chalk Decorative Paint (Behr gave me this at the Haven Conference). Let it dry completely. Sand to expose some of the stained wood, it you want the distressed look. After sanding, I wiped the piece to remove the dust.
Personally, I love the distressed look, I never have to worry about scratching the paint.
This mirror valet is so much cuter than it was. I’m bad about dropping my jewelry around the house, maybe this will help me stay more organized. (I said maybe lol.)
Doesn’t this make you want to go to the thrift store and look for a table top valet?
