Do you ever feel like you can’t decorate the way you want, for one reason or another? I decided I would not hold back on decorating the lake condo in one of my favorite colors. Murphy is loving all the teal. Honestly so am I.  There’s no stopping me now! Let’s get started: 

Choose a Statement Piece for Decorating

Every decision in the room was made around this piece of inexpensive art! It just feels like I’m looking at water, perfect for the lake or beach! I ordered everything online at Walmart.com, most items arrived within 2 days!  There are actually two statement pieces in the room. This fun tufted ottoman is screaming for attention. Love being able to put my feet up, add a tray for snacks and sit back and relax.

Add Accent Colors – Get Inspiration From Your Rug 

While I would be perfectly happy with all shades of blue, I added a few accents pieces in colors that are found in the rug. A rug is a wonderful place to pull color from and spread it around the room to create your color story. It takes the guess work out of what will and will not work.

It was tough to get Murphy out of the photos, she made herself right at home. A true testament of how cozy the space is. She loves the camera and I love her. 

The room has come a long way, it felt dark and dated. Light and bright colors make me happy. Walmart Home has so many options. You can search for whatever you’re looking for and there are lots of brand options. I have several rooms to work on as you know! Coming soon, I will share how we warmed up the space with wood. Until then, we’re enjoying the splash of teal in the living room makeover. 

See that basket beside the fireplace, that’s the sub woofer for the sound bar. It took me a minute to decide how to disguise it! The basket comes in several sizes, I picked the 15″ tall one. No more looking at sound equipment!
