Making these vinyl heat transfer pillow covers really has me in the mood to start Christmas decorating…I will resist the urge, but I’m really not happy about having to wait. I purchased the Vintage Santa SVG Cut File from a seller on Etsy and used Cricut Design Space to make my own design for the Believe in the Magic pillow cover. These pillow covers were fun and easy to make.
SUPPLIES:
- Blank Pillow Covers (16×16) – Be sure to use your coupon at Hobby Lobby for these!
- Heat Transfer Glitter Vinyl (red and black)
- Iron
- Cricut tools (scissors and weeding tool)
After using your Cricut Explore Air 2 or whichever vinyl cutting machine you have to cut your design, use your weeding tool to remove the excess vinyl only leaving behind the design you are going to iron on. After you have your design ready, place it on your pillow cover. I just eyeball the placement until I like where it is placed, I don’t use any special measurement. When you’re happy with the placement, use your preheated to cotton setting iron to press the design for approximately 20-25 seconds. With the size of these designs you will have to move your iron around in sections to make sure you cover the entire design. Slowly pull the plastic covering your heat transfer vinyl to make sure your image transfers completely, if it did not, carefully replace and heat with the iron until it transfers.

Can’t wait to share this post 😉
This gives me an idea. I came across some holiday stencils that I picked up at a garage sale in the early 80’s so not sure how old they are- I stuck them back away not knowing what to do with them. Guess I will get some pillow blanks at Hobby Lobby.
Absolutely beautiful … wish I had a circut cutter but maybe sketch the the design and then cut and iron on fabric…
