There’s a little store in Dadeville Al that I like to visit.
Old Bank Antiques
While I was there in November ’11, I found a couple of grain sacks*.
When I asked my baby girl what she wanted for Christmas,
she said, Just Make Me Something!
I washed and dried one of the old sacks.
and I cut it in half.
I stuffed in a couple of pillows.
Sewed it up.
Took a few pictures.
Wrapped them up and gave them to her for Christmas, she loved them!
*I saved one for me 😉

I love the grain sacks. They make amazing pillows. Yours are fantastic. We don’t find many of them here in New England. I would love to go to the Brimfield Antique show and maybe I could find some there.

Those pillows are so cute. I live 40 miles from the Staley’s factory. Who would have thought that someone would think to use their left overs for an adorable craft. I wonder how they ended up in Alabama !

Lovely! I love finding old grain sacks at auctions. Sometimes they’re buried at the bottom of the boxes that nobody wants to bid on.
Stuffing them with pillows is a wonderful idea. Think I’ll make a few of these.

These are fabulous! What a great present! I’ve never been lucky to find any grain sacks. Coffee sacks seem to be everywhere and as much as I love them they aren’t as soft as what yours look like. I think I need to make it my mission to find some this year and make some pillows! Thanks for the inspiration!
