Captain’s Log, refreshdate yada yada twentytwleve

(I’ve always wanted to say that)

Ok, so when I called my daughter and told her that I was buying a book on organization.  She said don’t do, you’re just wasting your money. You’re always buying stuff and you won’t use it.  I didn’t listen to her, just like she doesn’t listen to me hehehehe…

This is the book that I decided on. I liked this one, I thought, I can do this for 30 days.

Ok, since it’s around the middle January , I’m a little behind.  But I’m getting there little by little.

I have filled several bags, boxes and taken them to Goodwill and I did shop.  I didn’t buy as much as I donated. I listened to my little voice and put some stuff back, Go Me!

1.  Decluttered this

2. Organized 4 Drawers

I even added the color of the year, which also happens to be one of my favorites!

So there we have it, my little steps will hopefully add up this year.  What are you doing little of?

    1. Good for you. I heard a bit of wisdom one time that said, “The only way to eat an elephant, is one bite at a time.” I try to remember that when things seem overwhelming. I think that’s exactly what you are doing – one bite at a time. All that you’ve done so far looks very nice. Love that pop of tangerine!

    2. That’s so great, Debbie! Organizing is so freeing! I’ve been doing a lot of it lately and now you’ve motivated me to go do some more! 🙂

    3. I think I need to buy this book. I am realizing I need to re organize cabinets in my kitchen. After pulling everything out to paint them I discovered I had no organization in my cabinets. Hopefully my mom can help with that area when she comes this week!

    4. I think the secret to decluttering is to do it a little at a time. If you look at the big picture it’s too overwhelming and you don’t do anything. You’ve got the right idea. You go girl! LOVE the orange.

    5. I am so not organized. Wish I was. I will clean stuff out and say it will never go back to the way it looked and before I know it, it did. Ugh. I love your white hutch.

    6. Good for you, for getting organized! My problem is that I like to buy stuff to organize my other stuff, instead of getting rid of my stuff (does that make any sense?)

I’d love to hear at the end of 30 days if the book was worth getting 🙂

      • Susan, it will take me longer than 30 days LOL! I like that it has several options and then at the end of each chapter, theres a section “For Serious Simplifiers Only” that would be me! So I’m reading slow and it may take more than 30 days!

    7. So clever Debbie. I love it. I hate clutter – it clutters up my mind, so I will be de-cluttering big time when I have some holidays from my “day job” at the end of the month. My husband was recently diagnosed with terminal cancer, and it’s made me look at life completely differently. All the “stuff” that’s just “stuff” has to go! Also, my 5yr old starts school in two weeks so I’m going to have to work on being more organised. Thanks for the inspiration. Love your work! Blessings, Shirley xxxx
