My friends on Facebook are so nice.
I posted the before picture of one of the chairs and
they made comments about why someone would do this:
The previous owners used a plastic tablecloth for the seat cushion.
Most commented that they must have children or that they are messy eaters.
As I worked on the chairs, I remembered my negative thoughts when I first saw them.
The chairs are in awesome shape and if someone needed a change and all they could
afford were those plastic tablecloths…
or they did have messy eaters…
who was I to laugh about the way someone refreshed their chair.
I’m not the chair upholsterer judge.
Some people laugh at the stuff that I do.
I admire the fact that someone needed a change and used what they had.
After-all, most of the time that’s what I do.
I just needed to change my perspective.
I used Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Old White and Country Grey.
I’m staying very busy, refreshing my finds.
I post a lot of before pictures on Facebook and Instagram (refreshrestyle).

Springs. Use a whole lot of paint- Nothing spells spring than redesigning your
home with the newest cans of colors. A table is adequate in many
spaces, especially if you want to keep the room open
and bright.
Ah! I have that same fabric that’s waiting for me to get in gear for the industrial ottoman I’m building! It’s nice to see what it will look like on a piece of furniture instead of folded up on the counter. 🙂

I think you did an awesome job! I have a chair similar, except the sides have caining too. I am thinking of painting her a white or a pale blue. I would love to share when I am done.

Question about the paint. Did you mix the gray and white or did you only use the white on the caning and the gray on the wood? I’m thinking of purchasing the Country Gray for my ‘new’ sideboard.

I think you did a wonderful job “refreshing” the chair, and I’m sure the chair appreciates the gorgeous Parisian fabric more than the plastic. Who knows why the previous owner did what they did, but at least they didn’t dump the chairs!
I’m sure they were so pretty in there other life but now they are “knock outs”. Love the fabric you used on them!
