You know what they say about white dishes? White dishes make your food look better. For Mother’s Day or any special occasion, keeping things simple with a semi-homemade buffet makes parties less stressful. I pick my favorite pre-made foods and serve them with confidence 😉 Beautiful dishes, tasty treats and people you love all in one room. That makes for a great get together.
I created a simple table scape with farmhouse style flowers in a variety of jars. These Better Homes & Gardens tea light holders make a great vase, just remove the tea light holder and add flowers. Mix in a few colorful mason jars and you have a low profile centerpiece. A mixture of napkins and striped towels soften my rough barn wood table. The Sophia beaded dinnerware set makes setting a beautiful table easy. Better Homes & Gardens at Walmart has a large selection of white porcelain dinnerware and serving pieces. Porcelain is very durable, you can even use it in the oven, up to 450 degrees. Guest feel at ease with the simple styling of these white dishes or you can dress them up for a more formal look, they are the perfect little black dress for your table.
A large pitcher of lemonade and mason jars are ready to be filled. I’ll be adding a warm quiche to the white porcelain baker. Be sure to have salt and pepper available for those that need a little extra.

The kitchen peninsula is filled with more food, keep the flow less congested when everyone is filling their plates. I positioned the coffee maker for quick service and bonus points for having a cupcake near by! The mug tree makes self service easy, the beaded mugs look so pretty on the mug tree.

If Mama wants to start with dessert, there’s always that option. See what I mean about the food looking more enticing on white dishes? Cake plates are perfect for cupcakes too and this one can also serve chips and dip, all you have to do is flip it over. (I see a taco Tuesday party in the works here.)
I used a variety of white porcelain serving bowls, like these bistro bowls and platters. Mixing styles is easy with the beautiful selection of Better Homes & Gardens pieces. Great for chicken salad and fruit.
