Super Easy Lemon Pie Recipe
I have been making this recipe for 40 years, and when you see the ingredients I know you’re going to think that it doesn’t work. But it does and this is all it takes!
The Recipe
I squeezed mine the old fashioned way, with this little do-dad!
Lemon juice poured in to the bowl over the sweetened condensed milk.
Stir well, it is already starting to thicken ๐
Pour in to the pie crust and refrigerate to chill.
Add lemons and cool whip to garnish!

I made this tonight and it was AWESOME! Everyone licked their plates clean! Thank you for sharing this great and easy recipe!!
Thanks Karen, I love this recipe for several reasons! One it reminds me of my childhood and two, it tastes so good!
love ya,
Debbie
Just finished making this pie. I take a small can of evaporated milk that has been chilled for at least 24 hours and whip this until it peaks. Next add sweetened condensed milk and 1/2 cup of lemon juice. Blend it all on low speed mixer. Pour into graham cracker crust and chill. I put a few graham cracker crumbs on top of the pie. Pie using whipped evaporated milk is vert light and great summertime dessert.
I actually have my pie chilling in the fridge as I’m typing this! I cheated and used the bottled lemon juice. We had some leftover lemon juice that we froze a while back (we had a HUGE haul of freshly grown lemons from our fruit trees last year) but it ended up with a freezer burn taste. Yuck. But I do have to admit, even though I used the bottled stuff, the filling still tastes extremely good! Thanks so much for the easy recipe!
That pie looks and sounds delicious!! But oh my, I just LOVE that magazine cover!!! How clever!!!
(and so cute what all you wrote on the front! ๐ )

I was a little worried when I mixed it together and tasted it…all I could taste was the sweetened condensed milk. But I let it chill overnight and the next day when I tried it, it was delicious. I love practically anything lemon and this has become my new favorite pie! ๐
The recipe doesn’t specify what size can for the sweetened condensed milk. The small can, or the large one?
I used the 14 oz. cans. Thanks!
I’ve never heard of this before, but you know what I have a condensed milk in the pantry and I can try it out, I love anything lemon, thanks for sharing, it sounds really delicious.
This recipe has been in my family for over 60 years. My Mother made it many times and I’ve carried the tradition for at least 50 years. Our pie differs slightly in that when it sets up, we sprinkle on a can of fruit cocktail, drained. Also, a little whipped cream on the top never hurts. Actually, it cuts the sweetness just enough to allow you to eat as much as you want.
In the fridge at this very moment!! I sneaked a taste of the filling before I poured it into the pie crust. MMMMMM MMMMMM. I had to make my own pie crust because I am living overseas in the middle of the desert (teaching) and well, this tiny little town doesn’t bake pies on the regular, so crunching the UAE’s equivalent of graham crackers and making the crust made it a bit longer of a step, but the entire recipe was still insanely simple and fast. Thanks for posting. Can’t wait to cut into it!
I love lemon….have to try this one. Saw it on Pinterest!
My mother made this when I was young, and I have been making this for about 40 years too. The only exception is that we only used one can of condensed and the lemon was added to your taste. It does thicken and taste so good and rich!
Love this! So easy and I love lemons!!!
Make a variation of the same pie; however, I use one can of the lowfat sweetened condensed milk & fold in an 8 oz container of the sugar free cool whip and a packet of lemonade koolaid (you can use any flavor you want…try orange!) and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. Enjoy
Can you use bottled lemon jice instead of fresh?
How can you have been making this pie for 40 years when you don’t look 40? Were you making it in the womb? Can’t wait to try this! I found it on Pinterest (of course! ๐ Thanks, Debbie!
Ah! I copied the cover from the month before and I’m so glad you did this one! I’m going to make your recipe because I love lemon. Super copy!
I think my 4 year old can make this!…in fact, I even think that my 2 year old could do it! that would be such an easy. stress free dessert…and God knows I need less stress ๐
Anything with sweetened condensed milk is a favorite of mine. I could eat it straight out of the can.

I luv your faux magazine covers. I will have to learn how to do that!!
Now you have me longing for lemon pie. Drooling here, and all I have in the house that is sweet is Breyer’s Blast Snickers Ice Cream and marshmallows ๐ฎ
PS The same lemon juice ( or lemon and orange ) plus the condensed mild makes a Fab filling between layers of heavenly pound cake. Chill for at least 4 hours. Top with freshly whipped cream … sigh. I have to stop thinking food!
You are soooo good at doing those magazine covers! That lemon pie looks so darn good, but anything looks good to me right now. I put myself on a diet!!!
