Have you noticed that a lot of my projectsย start out brown, dirty and in need of some repair?

My friend “K” and I went on a whirlwind treasure hunt about an hour south of our town.ย  We had a great time, got lost several times-that’s another story.

ย When I happened on this treasure, I think she was a little surprised that I wanted it.ย  Chipped wood, hazy mirror,ย all the thingsย I look forย when treasure hunting ๐Ÿ™‚

ย

I used wood putty inย the chipped areas and sanded after it dried.ย

I painted the mirror with Annie Sloan Duck Egg blue, used a wet cloth to remove and distress.

Waxed with the clear wax.

The dark brown underneath never looked so good!

You can’t even tell where the repairs were!ย  Just the way I like it!

She looked pretty paired with the desk/vanity.

    1. How cute! Love the color you chose. I need to do some shopping! Nothing is better than scoring a great find for an upcyling project! Keep ’em coming.

    5. My name begins with “K” and I am your friend… but I notice I wasn’t on this treasure hunt. Hmmm… Maybe because we’d have to arm wrestle to see who got to keep this beautiful mirror! Looks beautiful Debbie!

    7. Very pretty, Debbie! I love the color you’ve chosen. I’ve never used the chalk paint, but a dear friend just re-did one of her china cabinets with it, and I’m itching to try it. I just need to find the perfect vintage piece!

      Have a wonderful Sunday!
