I have a special treat for you today!
Hello! I’m Holly from Life as a Thrifter, and I can’t wait to share this SUPER easy Anthropologie knock-off with you guys today!
A little while ago I was dying to get my laundry room in order. The walls were bare and there wasn’t a bit of character anywhere to be seen…
I started with plain cardboard letters from Hobby Lobby at $2.50 a piece.
Then, painted them using this metallic Kylon spray paint.
Lastly, I sanded them a bit to take the shine out.
And, what’s best of all, the letters are so light weight, all you need to hang them are Command strips!
What’d I tell you?Easy, right?(Check out the rest of the room HERE.)Thanks for inviting me to share today, Debbie! If you’d like to find more super easy, thrifty projects,be sure to stop by Life as a Thrifter!Happy hunting, everyone!-Holly
You just provided me with the PERFECT inspiration for a new project for our laundry room. I have just the spot for this! You always have such wonderful projects, ideas, & makeovers on your blog which just makes visiting that much more fun. I’ve nominated you for the Versatile Blogger Award. You can check out all the info on my blog. Congratulations!
Awesome project! I can’t believe all it took was sanding them to make them look perfectly distressed like that!
Wow they look fab!!
Hey! Even I could do this! Really cute.
I love this!!~ Very cool and clever. Hope you are enjoying yourself Debbie.
by the way, i loved meeting you at haven and this is ME coming up for AIR post-haven. love your stuff!!!
i love this! so simple and what a great impact! i’ll admit though, at first i was just browsing through the pictures and not reading and when i saw all the letters laid out i thought we were making a sign that says “MASH” and then i thought you might be designing an army-inspired room on the M-A-S-H theme. Oh the places my mind goes! Thanks for giving us the special treat of HOLLY today! (i have a little holly at my house and i like her too.)
angie
love love love…and I don’t know why but thought fun to use some clothes pins…and make then look like magnet’s and attach pics of kids or family in a messy mess…like painting a room,or kids in the back yard with hose…ect…you get it…fun stuff…
Love these! I may need to make some for the exercise room makeover that I’m working on and Michael’s has a HUGE sale going on this weekend, I’m there!
Super project! So easy!
Love this idea! Anytime I see “Anthropologie Knock-off”, I am so ready for that post!!
LOVE this!! now my wheels are spinning! Thanks for sharing!

I love those faked out metallic letters!!
Some time ago I did a makeover for a young teen boy. And picked a large cardboard letter like shown and painted it with a metallic spray paint, too. It really looked like the real thing!!! It was especially good as I created an industrial style metallic headboard, cornice for his window, bulletin board and more. It’s so fun when something is easy and makes a big WOW!
Hope your 4th of July is Extraordinary!!!
I found my paint at JoAnn’s and it had the perfect look…no sanding necessary.
I am obsessed with Anthropologie! Obsessed. About 75% of my dresses and skirts are from there. Did I mention I’m obsessed with Anthropologie?
I need a few things to spruce up my entryway without putting holes in the wall. I wanted to buy letters that spelled out “welcome” but was nervous about putting 7 holes in the wall in this temporary house so this solves my problem! I’ll be going to hobby lobby or someplace similar this week!
LOVE this! ;} such a fun idea.
That looks great! They really look like metal letters! Nice job.
Thanks for sharing, Debbie! Have a great 4th of July!
Love them! I love using the different letters from Hobby Lobby. I am freshing up my house to put on the market and I’m going to do this for the laundry room for an inexpensive update..and then I can take them with me to the new house. 🙂 Thanks for hanging out over here at Debbie’s today!
