DIY METAL CHRISTMAS SIGN

Y’all I bought a scroll saw and this was my first project! It’s a lot easier than I thought it would be. This DIY metal Christmas sign is brought to life with the bear cut out.

I traced the design, put on my safety glasses and got busy. I sanded the rough edges. See all the details below.

I found my metal sign at Michaels, but I added an Amazon affiliate link to similar ones in the instructions.

Create this easy DIY Beary Christmas Sign

Materials

• Metal Chalkboard Sign (similar board)
• Beary Christmas Transfer Stencil
• White Chalkology Paste
• Green Chalkology Paste
• Rust-Oleum Satin Heirloom White

Tools

• Scroll Saw

Instructions

1. Make a copy of the item that you want to scroll.
2. Trace the bear (item you are scrolling).
3. Cut out with your scroll saw.
4. Paint any color you like. I used spray paint.
5. Fuzz and apply the transfer/stencil.
6. Use a squeegee to apply the green and white chalk paste to the screen print areas of the transfer. (Watch the quick video for instructions: Beary Christmas Video.)

Notes

Optional:

• I added script on my bear after I painted him.
• Add a ribbon around neck of the bear.
• Use a magnet or hot glue to add the bear cut out.

After I painted my bear, I added a partial stencil/transfer for the lettering. I think it’s a fun addition, but totally optional.
