New Chalk Couture Holiday Transfers and Craft Ideas
Live Videos · Crafts
I opened my latest box for a first look at the new Chalk Couture holiday transfers, Peanuts designs, and wood grain surfaces. As soon as I started pulling everything out, my mind filled up with Christmas decor and gift ideas.
New Chalk Couture Holiday Transfers
The holiday release has such a fun mix of sweet characters, classic greenery, playful lettering, and designs for the kitchen. There are options for fabric projects, signs, cards, pillows, and plenty of handmade gifts.
Some of the smaller heat transfer packages include two designs, which gives you more than one chance to create. You could make a matching set, keep one project, and give one away. I always appreciate supplies that help me get a few gifts finished from the same package.
One of my favorites was the adorable cow wearing a Santa hat. So many of you loved that design when I first shared it, and I did too. The long lashes add so much personality.
I also loved the deer designs. I see deer in my backyard often, so those felt extra special when I pulled them from the box. They would be lovely on holiday fabric projects.
Poinsettia Perfection
Poinsettia Perfection was one of the prettiest designs in the release. The detail is gorgeous, and I mentioned that the colors really pop when the design is added to white polyester.
There was also a beautiful repeatable holly design. A repeatable pattern gives you room to cover a larger area or add a smaller section as an accent, depending on the project in front of you.
Holiday Designs With Plenty of Options
Several designs gave me ideas beyond one specific Christmas project. The Candy Cane Ticking Stripe includes candy canes along with the striped pattern. You can use the full design for Christmas or leave off the candy canes and create an everyday ticking stripe.
Frosted Font has playful letters with little decorative details. I could see it working for Christmas words, but it would also be cute for birthday party decor or any project that needs a cheerful name or phrase.
Everyday Borders is another useful set because borders can go almost anywhere. You can add one along the edge of a sign, use it as a stripe, or combine it with a larger design to fill the surface.
The tree designs caught my eye too. I love decorating with trees during the holidays, and these offer several shapes and styles to mix into signs and seasonal displays.
Sweet Ideas for Handmade Gifts
The kitchen designs had me thinking about gifts right away. Bake the World a Better Place would be cute on an oven mitt, towel, or another kitchen project. Reindeer Feed would work for festive containers, signs, or gift packaging.
One design included a gingerbread figure, but the open space also gives you options. I showed how you could leave off the gingerbread and add a train, candy cane, snowflake, bird, or bell in that spot. The gingerbread is awfully cute, so I would have a hard time leaving it out.
I also shared oven mitts and pillow covers while talking through gift ideas. The exact pillow cover details still needed to be checked when I filmed, so I planned to gather that information before using them.
New Wood Grain Surfaces
The new nine by twelve basic board has a natural wood grain look on the front and an unfinished surface on the back. It may be designed as a one sided board, but I plan to paint the back and use both sides. A two sided sign gives me more decorating choices without taking up extra storage space.
I was especially excited to see the larger eighteen by eighteen wood grain board. It has been a while since I had a good board in that size, and many of the larger holiday designs will fit on it. It can also work with designs shown on round surfaces if you prefer a square shape.
The fold over cards came in an eight pack, and you can place the design vertically or horizontally. Those would be fun for holiday greetings, gift cards, or small pieces of seasonal art.
A New Peanuts Release
The Peanuts collections brought back so many childhood memories for me. I remember sitting around a black and white television with a knob for changing the channel, and one of us kids always had to get up and serve as the remote.
This release included fall and holiday Peanuts designs. I had already ordered from the fall collection when I filmed because I wanted to make something featuring Snoopy. Peanuts designs have such a familiar look, and they work for projects that can come back out year after year.
At the time I filmed, select fall items and some Peanuts designs from the previous year were discounted. There was also a free gift offered with qualifying orders of at least $125 while supplies lasted. Promotions and inventory can change, so check the current details before placing an order.
