How to make a tulip bucket door decor; today I’m sharing this metal bucket that I found for almost nothing. It’s time for our Thrift Store Decor team to share our thrifty makeovers!
Honestly, I could not figure out why it was marked down to $4.99. It’s so cute and I loved the paint patina with the metal showing through. Let me show you the before:
READ THAT, it makes no sense whatsoever! Let love full of home, huh?? That’s why they were practically giving it away, hahahaha.
I added affiliate links for the products that I used.
Here’s what you need to transform a metal bucket:
- Bucket
- Tape
- Spray paint (I used: spray chalk paint in new leaf )
- Chalk transfer this one: Bloom
- White Chalkology Paste find it here: White paste
- Floral foam
- 6 bunches of small tulips – mine are from Michael’s they were $2 per bunch.
Tape off the bucket before spray painting if you want to leave any of the original color. If not, just spray paint the whole thing.
After the spray chalk paint dries, I applied the bloom transfer, not a stencil more like a screen print.
Add floral foam to the bucket, my piece was large enough to just wedge in to the container. If you are using a smaller piece, add hot glue to the bottom to hold it in place.
Arrange tulips in the bucket. I started with the middle first and moved on to the left and right side. Finished by filling in the other areas. Fluff and bend the flowers over the edge so they look like they’re spilling out, for a more realistic look.

Very pretty and welcoming! Visiting from Style Showcase.
Another winner Debbie! You are SO clever and creative. (and stylish) I would have no idea how to style those tulips.
Funny about the wording… hahaha What a happy accident for you to change up with your Chalk Couture products.
pinning!!

I adore this, Debbie! Yes, the original is good for a laugh! That outdoor rug is gorgeous!!
I bought the same container at Hobby Lobby last year. Got for 50% off, but didn’t catch the wording until after I brought it home. I have used it as a trash can in powder room, but I think I’ll paint it and fill it with flowers and put it on the OLD door of my garden shed. Garden shed is our newest upcoming project. Ordered the wood from the Amish lumber yard and we pick up next weekend….now if only it will quit snowing and warm up in PA!
I love it Debbie… what a great find and those tulips are gorgeous!
This is adorable and perfect for Spring!
I watched your video on facebook about this! Loved it! I’ll have to check out the Chalk Couture products. They look like fun!
This is fantasticccccc, and I pinnnnnned it.
Let Love Full of Home- bahahahaha! Something does NOT compute…but it’s so much better now! And those bright salmon/coral tulips against the green give me all the Spring-y smiles. 🙂
