French Provincial Makeover

I call her Frenchie, Mrs. French Provincial.

You’ve seen her around…

Before Makeover

I removed the back, sanded, cleaned her up and started painting.

During Paint

If you follow me on instagram, (refreshrestyle) those are two of the photos that I posted.  I’m always sharing my current projects, this one was before Christmas.  I’m slow :)  I also share window shopping, Murphy, dirty laundry…you know everyday stuff.

Wall paper

In this photo you can see a little of the green highlights.  I used two colors, trying to create a subtle difference.

I also added wallpaper to the new backing.

New Handles

New handles and a little edge distressing.

Wall Paper

The new statement piece, vibrant color, wallpaper and handles.

I think it would look great in a kitchen or any room that needs a pop of color.

What do you think?

They said it was impossible but I did it, I painted 6 chairs in one day!  How to spray paint dining chairs with chalk paint: Dining Chairs painted   French Provincial Makeover How to Spray Paint wicker with Chalk Paint: Refreshing the rocking chairs - spray painting wicker with HomeRight Finish Max And I painted fabric too!     Sharing:  Thistlewood Farms, StoneGable

I think Frenchie would look lovely in an office ... In MY office! Beautiful job, as always, Deb. I walked away from a book case with lots of intricate details, went back today and (you know this sad song) it was gone!

I love this! We painted our living room this color just before Christmas decorating and it looks fabulous! Decorated our tree in dark teal, green and pops of red and it was gorgeous! You did an awesome Number one job! I don't have a website.

That color is gorgeous!!! Amazing what a lot of paint and some creativity can do.The black hardware is perfect with the bright color!!!
When I first saw the back of the piece I thought that you had laid that colored backsplash glass in it. Very very pretty!

Heidi @ Decor & More

LOVE it!! Yes, the perfect pop of color -- wouldn't it be fun in a craft room, too?? Nicely done, Debbie!

I am dying over this one! I couldn't tell it was wallpaper on the back...it totally looks like wood slats...don't you think it would like to live in my kitchen???

linda

i was wondering how was the french provicial was painting by machine or by hand. and did yoo strip it first?

Debbie

It's painted by hand and I use Maison Blanche vintage furniture paint. You don't have to strip!

Debby

did you have to sand it before using the vintage paint?

Debbie

It depends on the piece, I usually do a test spot and my fingernail test. Paint a spot with 2 coats and if it scrapes off, sand lightly.

Josephine/Pinky

Lovely, lovely. I love the color the wallpaper backing etc.

Mary P

I love the color. Nothing can ever be too blue. My favorite color.
