French Provincial Makeover
I call her Frenchie, Mrs. French Provincial.
You’ve seen her around…
I removed the back, sanded, cleaned her up and started painting.
If you follow me on instagram, (refreshrestyle) those are two of the photos that I posted. I’m always sharing my current projects, this one was before Christmas. I’m slow 🙂 I also share window shopping, Murphy, dirty laundry…you know everyday stuff.
In this photo you can see a little of the green highlights. I used two colors, trying to create a subtle difference.
I also added wallpaper to the new backing.
New handles and a little edge distressing.
The new statement piece, vibrant color, wallpaper and handles.
I think it would look great in a kitchen or any room that needs a pop of color.
What do you think?
They said it was impossible but I did it, I painted 6 chairs in one day! How to spray paint dining chairs with chalk paint:

And I painted fabric too!

January 21, 2014 at 5:11 ami was wondering how was the french provicial was painting by machine or by hand. and did yoo strip it first?
Debbie says
January 21, 2014 at 3:01 pmIt’s painted by hand and I use Maison Blanche vintage furniture paint. You don’t have to strip!

February 25, 2018 at 9:55 pmdid you have to sand it before using the vintage paint?
Debbie says
February 27, 2018 at 9:24 pmIt depends on the piece, I usually do a test spot and my fingernail test. Paint a spot with 2 coats and if it scrapes off, sand lightly.

When I first saw the back of the piece I thought that you had laid that colored backsplash glass in it. Very very pretty!
